About this listen
Road trip! In the car on the way to the protest at Grand Valley Institution (GVI) in Kitchener, Ontario, March 7, Esme chats with incarcerated women's advocate and caWsbar founding member Heather Mason about her experiences being a prisoner at GVI, her advocacy work and some of the logistics involved in staging the protest as part of International Women's Day 2021. At the post-protest meal, Esme gets reactions from Madeline Riversong (founder of We The Females and protest co-organizer), Faye Van Derplank (caWsbar founding member) and Christopher Elston ("Billboard Chris") who talks about his experiences campaigning on the street. Just days after this episode was recorded Chris would make international news when he was physically attacked by gender ideology activists in Montreal.
