To make the Basin City Blackout:

Ingredients

2 oz rye whiskey
1 oz black vermouth
¼ oz maraschino liqueur
2 dashes Angostura bitters
cherry for garnish

Instructions

Add whiskey, vermouth/amaro, maraschino liqueur, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
Stir until chilled and silky.
Strain into a chilled coupe or lowball glass.
Garnish with a single red cherry—let it sink like a drop of color in a black‑and‑white frame.
