Faith in a Changing World
About this listen
For over a century, there has been marked tension between faith and modernity. Some argue religion is outmoded, and while there are valid criticisms brought to bear against institutionalised religion, this dismissal is hasty and uninformed. Our impulse toward the religious experience is undiminished, and even those who reject the faiths of their fathers still feel the pull. As we learn more about ourselves, each other, and the world around us, what may be said to be outmoded is our assumptions about the nature of faith, not faith itself.
This podcast is for those who wish to keep their faith, or perhaps even grow spiritually, while accepting our growing knowledge of the world which may contradict orthodox assumptions. While I am inherently influenced by my own convictions, the discussion to be had is fundamentally interfaith. We share the experience of spirituality, and that we find it to be of tremendous value - it is a deeply personal thing, and therefore the details are left for each to find what suits best.
