During the first week of September the Presbyterian congregations of Annalong, Kilkeel and Mourne gather together for 6 evenings of Bible teaching, delivered by Rev David Johnston. The text for the week was Hebrews 11, looking at Heroes of the Faith.
On the Tuesday evening David looked at Hebrews 11 v 8-16 (ESV) and the characters of Abraham and Sarah. Through these Heroes Of The Faith we considered together Faith's Obedience. Faith is obedient when it is
- Grounded in the free and sovereign will of God.
- Evidenced in the command of God.
- Sustained by a belief in the providence of God.
- Attested through its apprehension of the promises of God.
- Enlarged through its apprehension of the promises of God.
