[PT] Neste novo episódio de Falar as Danças, convidámos Angela Guerreiro a escrever e ler-nos um texto seu, intitulado “O Decolonial nas Artes, os Museus e a 'ARTE DE SE COMPORTAR MAL'”.

A. Guerreiro é mãe, artista independente, mentora de dança, produtora, investigadora, ativista, curadora de festivais e conferências, terapeuta de movimento e educadora de movimento somático. Foi coreógrafa residente no Kampnagel em Hamburgo entre 1995 e 2002, apresentando o seu trabalho internacionalmente. Atualmente é doutoranda no programa “Pós-Colonialismos e Cidadania Global” do Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra, membra da UNA-União Negra das Artes e presidente da direção da Associação Natureza Arte Corpo e Alma.

Falar as Danças apresenta uma série de episódios, tanto português como em inglês, em que artistas da cena internacional da dança contemporânea discutem questões que fazem da dança e da coreografia um terreno inesgotável de experimentação, problematização e pensamento. Uma co-produção entre os Estúdios Victor Córdon e a Associação Parasita, com curadoria de Carlos Manuel Oliveira.

[EN] In this ninth episode of the Wording Dances podcast, we invited Angela Guerreiro to write and read us a text, titled “The Decolonial in the Arts, Museums, and THE ART OF BEHAVING BADLY”.

A. Guerreiro is a mother, an independent artist, dance mentor, producer, researcher, activist, festival and conference curator, movement therapist and somatic movement educator. She was a resident choreographer at Kampnagel Hamburg between 1995 and 2002, her works touring internationally. She is currently a PhD candidate in the “Postcolonialisms and Global Citizenship” program at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, a member of UNA-União Negra das Artes, and president of the board of Natureza Arte Corpo e Alma Association.

Wording Dances presents a series of episodes, both in Portuguese and English, where renowned artists from the international contemporary dance scene discuss matters which make of dancing and choreographing an inexhaustible terrain of experimentation, problematization and thinking. A co-production between Estúdios Victor Córdon and Parasita Association, hosted by Carlos Manuel Oliveira.

Para o oitavo episódio da série Falar as Danças, convidámos a coreógrafa Ivana Müller a escrever e ler-nos um texto da sua autoria, escrito para esta ocasião, intitulado “Thoughts on Togetherness”. Ivana é coreógrafa, artista e escritora. Nasceu em Zagreb e cresceu na Croácia e em Amesterdão. Através do seu trabalho coreográfico e teatral, repensa a política do espetáculo e do espetacular, revisita o lugar do imaginário e da imaginação, questiona a noção de “participação”, investiga a ideia de valor e a sua representação, e continua a inspirar-se na relação entre performer e espetador. Para além da sua prática artística, é curadora de encontros artísticos e discursivos, e palestrante em diferentes contextos. Atualmente, vive em Paris e trabalha internacionalmente.

Ivana is a choreographer, artist and writer. Through her choreographic and theatre work, she rethinks the politics of spectacle and the spectacular, revisits the place of the imaginary and imagination, questions the notion of “participation”, investigates the idea of value and its representation, and is continuously inspired by the relationship between performer and spectator. Besides her artistic practice, she curates artistic and discursive encounters and lectures in different contexts. She currently lives in Paris and works internationally.
