    85. Practices That Connect

    Friday - February 20, 2026

Over the last 6 weeks, we have explored the spiritual practices of prayer, reading the Bible, silence, fasting, sabbath, and service. Today, we reflect on and wrap up the series.

    Discussion Question(s)

    • Which of the six practices seems easiest for you, and which seems hardest?

    • Was there anything you learned or anything someone said during your family discussions that’s stuck with you from the last six weeks?

    • Are any of the practices things you’d like to try to do more of now that you better understand them?

    Prayer

Dear God, we thank you that you’ve given us ways to look for you, listen for you, and connect with you. You haven’t given us spiritual practices as homework to fill our time or prove ourselves, but you’ve given them to us because you love us. May we take advantage of these practices because we love you too. Amen.

    84. Letting Others Serve

    Thursday - February 19, 2026

Dan recalls a time when one of the employees at Auden and Brookie’s Ice Cream & Cookies went above and beyond in serving his family. We learn that we can actually share a blessing when we let others serve.

    Discussion Question(s)

    • Can you think of a time when you served someone else and it made you feel good?

    Prayer

Dear God, it is amazing that the practice of service has the ability to bless both those who are being served and those who are doing the serving. As we keep our eyes open for ways to love and serve other people, may we also recognize when others want to love and serve us. May we receive the blessing with humility, knowing that they will be blessed as well. Amen.

    83. Ash Wednesday

    Wednesday - February 18, 2026

We learn about the meaning and significance of Ash Wednesday. This important day begins the season of Lent, which prepares us to get the most out of the celebration of Easter.

    Discussion Question(s)

    • Is there something you might need to say sorry for - either to God or someone you know? Share if you’re comfortable, but it’s ok to just reflect.

    Prayer

Dear God, we love you so much. But despite our love for you, we still make mistakes that can hurt our relationship with you. On this Ash Wednesday, we say we’re sorry, and we seek to better follow you. More than anything, thank you that you hear us and forgive us. Amen.
