According to the way Jesus responded to appeals for help, we should be ready to respond joyfully with the resources and gifts with which we have been blessed. Yes, it was Jesus who "served" a helping of the "Good News" and finished the event much like He did with the feeding of the 5,000+. Have you ever received a gift that keeps giving? Most presents either wear out or at least their appeal fades over time. Not so with the gifts of the spirit, especially the role those gifts play in our spiritual journey. With those gifts, we can become evangelists, pastors, teachers, and other faith-building members within the body of the church. It is up to each of us to find our roles and fulfill them, in order to grow and mature as a unified church reflecting the truth that is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
