And as I left the theater to have my usual post-movie debrief with myself, the spirit of Carrie Bradshaw jumped into me ... and I couldn’t help but wonder ... is it time to boycott men in film until we figure this shit out?
In the first very nosy episode of 2026, I yap about the repetitive men-in-film stories audiences love, hate, coddle, excuse, and mythologize. From Marty Supreme and The Wolf of Wall Street to Breaking Bad and Whiplash to the tween/teen media that raised us. We talk about antiheroes/antiheroines, female rage vs. male coming-of-age moments, why male chaos gets poeticized and intellectualized while women get villainized, and why “it’s not that deep” only applies when men are at the forefront.
