  • #042 MRT... new seasons in travel, outgrowing old ways of living, re-finding your purpose, manifesting your dream life and more
    Apr 14 2023

What do you do when you reach your dream or outgrow an old way of living/travelling? While I ordinarily chat with travellers, nomads and global citizens about their journey to how they are thriving in this lifestyle, in this MRT (my road to..) segment, I share my personal (and messy) journey as it evolves. In each episode, I share what I have learned and put into practice in my own life around travel and pursuing a life of freedom. In this week's episode, I chat about:

    - How I'm shifting into a new season of travel (and where I'm going next!)

    - What I'm looking to manifest in this new season

    - The importance of an intentional practice to cultivate a free life

    - Re-centring on my purpose and my 'why' - a few key question's I've been asking myself from an incredible article by Mark Manson about finding your purpose

  • #041 Flying around the world in a single-engine plane with Sam Porter from @fly5inthesky
    Mar 31 2023

Ever wondered what it would be like to travel the world in a single-engine plane?

Well, in today's episode, I sit down with Sam Porter – a 22-year-old private pilot from Vancouver, Canada, who has spent the last 8 months doing exactly that. Her family (@fly5inthesky) has set a massive goal of flying around the world in their single-engine GA8 AirVan, travelling to over 50 countries in 14 months.

In this episode, we dive into:

    • A day in the life of travelling in a single-engine plane

    • How to pack for a worldwide expedition (with only 9kg per person!)

    • Sam shares some of her best and worst experiences from travelling to over 20 countries so far

    • How to navigate medical emergencies as a full-time traveller ...and much more!

It is said that “less people have flown around the world in a single-engine plane than have summited mount Everest”, and it's hard to say if there even has been a family that has done it all together, completely VFR and with no autopilot.

Be sure to follow along the journey over at @fly5inthesky and you can connect with sam @samanthaporter
