Weekend 1 of the Gears Reloaded Beta draws to a close. I got in plenty of game time over the weekend to sample what it's offering. From a very rocky opening night, to a much smoother experience by day 2 and 3, I give my thoughts on how Reloaded is feeling. Is the gameplay dated? How much fine tuning needs to be done? The Xbox Showcase is in the rearview, and while Gears of War did make an appearance, it wasn't the earth shaking type of showing that we had last year - which is fine! Turns out Gears of War Reloaded is actually looking pretty incredible, as we got an official trailer, and confirmation of the Beta as the game gets ready to hit Xbox, Playstation, and PC this summer. I'm on hand to give my own thoughts on the showcase news or lack thereof, and did we actually get a confirmation that E-Day is coming in 2026? It continues to be a busy time for Gears of War news and there's a few thoughts to get off my COG armour plated chest. After my video a little while back worrying that the movie was in development hell, a glimmer of deep running hope appears, as The Hollywood Reporter confirms David Leitch is in talks for the Director's chair. I give thoughts on the Leitch-Spaihts Director-Writer combo, and what this could mean for the tone of the film.
