• I Mom So Hard: Kristin Hensley & Jen Smedley: On Motherhood, Female Friendship and the Importance of Keeping It Real
    Jul 14 2026

It's women supporting women on a very special episode this week as Becky is joined by comedians, influencers and New York Times bestselling authors Kristin Hensley & Jen Smedley — also known as the hilarious creators and stars of 'I Mom So Hard'.

Kristin and Jen take Becky back to their Nebraska roots and ultimate meet-cute after a Hollywood improv show, before sharing the genesis of what initially prompted them to launch their web series 10 years ago, and how 'I Mom So Hard' has since evolved into a robust community for women — complete with bestselling books, live shows around the country, and a wildly successful podcast.

With their trademark delightful candor, Kristin and Jen connect with Becky about letting go of the idea of perfect motherhood, the power of female friendship, the gains that can only come from hard work and hustle, and why mom's are just f**ing tough (spoiler alert: no choice).

  • Jon Hurwitz: On Cobra Kai, The Karate Kid's Legacy, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and the '86 Mets
    Jul 7 2026

This week, Becky welcomes an old friend to the pod — writer, director, and producer Jon Hurwitz (Cobra Kai, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) — and they had a lot to catch up on, including the full origin story of his hit TV series Cobra Kai: how it first came to life on YouTube Red before exploding into the stratosphere on Netflix, and how he and his collaborators convinced the initially hesitant William Zabka and Ralph Macchio to reprise their iconic Karate Kid roles — in a very different way than anyone expected.

Jon also takes Becky back to how he first connected with his longtime writing and directing partner Hayden Schlossberg in high school and what prompted the two of them to team up with their friend, writer/director/producer Josh Heald, to create Cobra Kai — which ultimately led to the trio launching their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment.

He also gives a sneak peek at what's next for him, including producing the upcoming Kevin Hart/Marcello Hernandez Netflix comedy 72 Hours, and writing and directing the adaptation of Knight Rider for Universal. But most importantly, Jon explains why the '86 Mets still mean so much to him that he insisted on passing his undying loyalty down to his (Los Angeles-based) children.

  • Deborah Kaplan: On Can't Hardly Wait, Josie and the Pussycats, and the Right People Finding Her Work
    Jun 30 2026

Another hometown kid joins the pod as Becky welcomes writer/director Deborah Kaplan (Can't Hardly Wait, Josie and the Pussycats) — fellow proud Philadelphian, Abingtonian, and alum of both Camp Kweebec and McKinley Elementary. (Doesn't get better than this!)

Deb shares the backstory of how she connected with her longtime writing and directing partner Harry Elfont at NYU — despite the two of them having grown up in neighboring towns (hi, Lower Moreland!) — and how that partnership led to their wildly early success with the '90s teen classic, Can't Hardly Wait (a movie Becky loves to an unhealthy degree).

Deb also gets candid about the long and winding road of a Hollywood career: from the Friday night opening weekend call from the head of the studio to radio silence by Monday morning, how she and Harry have jumped back into movie directing after a long stretch in television, and the lesson she's learned about how the right people find her work.

  • Sam Richardson: On Veep, Winning an Emmy for Ted Lasso, Collaborating with Best Friend Tim Robinson, and the Humanity of Comedy
    Jun 23 2026

DREAM GUEST ALERT. This week Becky is joined by her pal Sam Richardson (Veep, Ted Lasso) — Emmy-winning actor, comedian, and one of Detroit's favorite sons — who also happens to be one of the stars of LET'S HAVE KIDS!, a film Becky may have mentioned once or a million times by now.

Sam pulls back the curtain on his legendary creative partnership and best friendship with Tim Robinson: how their beloved show Detroiters came to be, Sam's iconic role on I Think You Should Leave, and the amazing experience of them each winning their first Emmys — for different shows — on the same night.

Sam also shares how he burst onto the comedy scene with his unforgettable role on Veep, the new Netflix show he recently started shooting with Nick Kroll, Jason Mantzoukas, and Vanessa Bayer (in Los Angeles — bring work back to LA!), why harnessing his many, many hobbies has become essential, and how hitting a baseball out of Comerica Park was easily one of the best days of his life.

  • Anna Konkle: On PEN15 and Her Incredible New Memoir 'The Sane One'
    Jun 9 2026

It's a long overdue reunion this week as Becky is joined by her wildly talented friend Anna Konkle — Emmy-nominated writer, actor, and co-creator of the critically acclaimed and beloved series PEN15, for which Becky was lucky enough to be one of the producers.

Anna looks back at the magical and complex experience of making PEN15, the behind-the-scenes reality of bringing such a singular show to life, and the wonderfully unexpected response to the show. Anna also shares what it was like connecting with PEN15 fans on her recent book tour for her debut memoir 'The Sane One'a beautiful and deeply personal exploration of family dysfunction, strong connection, estrangement, and reconciliation — and how her mantra "no pressure, just purpose" informs her work and creative life (a phrase Becky would like sewn onto a pillow immediately, please and thank you).

  • Last Looks Clip Show: A Pop Culture Celebration!
    Jun 2 2026

So it's come to this... To mark Episode 40, Becky is doing something a little different — a clip show in the grand tradition of The Simpsons, but this version is dedicated entirely to the 'Last Looks' segment that has been the heart of the General Meeting podcast since day one.

This special compilation episode features (at least one clip of) each of the incredible guests who have sat on the green velvet couch so far, some of their most memorable picks — and, of course, the moments Becky felt the need to weigh in with her shared passion for the movie, album or TV show in question. (Interrupt? Weigh in? Who's to say.)

Whether you've been with the pod since the beginning or are just discovering the show, this episode is a perfect entry point — the warmest hug, a love letter to pop culture, and a comprehensive list of classics that will have you adding things to your watchlist faster than you can say 'Last Looks'.

  • Natalie Zea: On Justified, The Detour, and the Wild Reality of Being a Working Actor Right Now
    May 26 2026

This week, Becky welcomes her friend and fellow Gen X music queen, actress and writer Natalie Zea (Justified, La Brea) to the pod. Natalie opens up about the reality of being a working actor right now, and the conversation gets very candid — in the best possible way.

Natalie is her honest, funny, and vulnerable self as she shares how drastically the business has changed since she started out, how that's personally affected her, and what it really means to navigate a career when the industry you built your life around is going through such a tumultuous time.

Natalie and Becky also dig into what writing has meant to her during this chapter, her desire to do more comedy, and — of course — which Tori Amos album she would bring to a deserted island.

  • Dylan Meyer: Making The Wrong Girls, the Vulnerability of First-Time Directing, and Betting on Artists
    May 19 2026

This week, Becky sits down with her pal, writer/director Dylan Meyer (Moxie) — the creative force behind the upcoming stoner comedy The Wrong Girls starring Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat, produced by Point Grey, and coming to theatres on August 14th from NEON.

Dylan opens up about the vulnerable, exciting experience of stepping behind the camera for the first time after years as a screenwriter, and what it really means to make that leap. She and Becky also chat about Nevermind Pictures, the production company Dylan runs with her wife Kristen Stewart, and their producing partner Maggie McLean — including what Kristen's own directorial debut, The Chronology of Water, has in common with The Wrong Girls, the kind of projects they want to make, and what it really means to bet on artists.
