Visionary designers of the time drew heavily from the excitement of space exploration, creating futuristic looks that continue to influence fashion, art, cosplay, and even Burlesque. In episode 1 of the Get Glam and Go Go Show, we introduce the history of Go Go dancing and how it relates to Burlesque through the perspective of our first guest, Brooklyn-based performer, Angie Pontani.

Angie has won titles such as Miss Exotic World in Las Vegas and is currently headlining some of the biggest shows across the United States such as After Dark Vegas and After Dark NYC. Angie was also instrumental in spreading the word about gogo back as early as the mid-90s when she and her sisters were gigging as Go Go dancers throughout NYC. Angie's classes are where the host of the show, Jenny Pierce learned the foundation of the 1960s Go Go movements. Angie joins us to talk about her experience in Go Go dancing, how it relates to Burlesque, and what she’s currently up to.
