  • Getting Caught Up | Anson Frericks episode
    Mar 24 2025

Anson Frericks, author of Last Call for Bud Light: The Fall and Future of America's Favorite Beer, discusses his time at Anheuser-Busch as a Bud Light executive and the years of missteps thcatastropheat led up to the Bud Light-Dylan Mulvaney fiasco of 2023, a corporate castastrophe that devastated the company's bottom line and from which the brand still yet to recover from even two years later. Frericks left a year before the ill-advised ad partnership, and describes the writing on the wall that made it clear the company was headed in the wrong direction, how such an ill-advised decision was made, a different partnership that the company passed on, which would've likely not stirred up a backlash, and some of the great Bud Light ad campaigns of years past -- like Dilly Dilly, Ted Ferguson: Bud Light Daredevil and Ladies Night.

  • Getting Caught Up | Aaron Rouselle episode
    Feb 3 2025

Aaron Rouselle talks about his unique path to playing college baseball as a freshman at age 40, the monumental health challenges he overcame during the preceding decade, and his experience playing for the gold medal-winning Team USA basketball squad at the 2017 World Transplant Games in Spain -- as well as being a college basketball player years ago when he earned his first degree. As a cancer survivor, Rouselle discusses the highs and lows he's faced, including two liver transplants, out-of-body experiences in which he talked with God and how that impacted his faith and inspired him to start Pops Culture, a non-profit he runs that mentors youth athletes. Rouselle is a true survivor with an inconquerable will to live and a one-of-a-kind story.

  • Getting Caught Up | Brittany Patterson episode
    Dec 16 2024

Brittany Patterson is a mom from Georgia who was arrested in front of her four children in late October of 2024, was dragged to jail where she was finger-printed and had her mug shot taken, and then was charged with reckless conduct. She is facing up to a year in prison and as much as a $1,000 fine -- all for having allowed her 10-year-old son to walk to the store by himself. For a distance of less than a mile, in a small town with a population of less than 400. And she is fighting the reckless conduct charge and refusing to sign a so-called safety plan that local authorities want her to agree to. In this episode, she talks about the day she was arrested, what life is like in Mineral Bluff, Georgia, what the reaction from friends and family has been, her thoughts on government overreach, how her kids have been handling the ordeal, why she refuses to sign the safety plan, and if she's prepared to go to jail fighting the reckless conduct charge. Brittany was joined by David DeLugas, her lawyer and the founder of ParentsUSA, a group that advocates for parents' rights. David discussed the legal nuances of Brit's case and others like hers.
