  • Sango Omojola | Terror + Faith: Inside the US Empire’s Playbook in Nigeria
    Feb 11 2026

In episode 63 of Global Majority for Peace, Ileana Chan speaks with Nigerian socialist and Pan‑Africanist organiser Sango Omojola @abasimperialism⁩ about how the United States deploys terror narratives and religious influence to undermine sovereignty in Nigeria and across West Africa. Drawing on the work of the Movement for African Emancipation (MAE) and the Coalition for the Elimination of Imperialism (CEIA), Sango breaks down how Washington’s latest attack on Nigeria fits into a long‑standing imperial playbook designed to control political processes in the Global South.

Tracing the events from the Trump administration’s “Country of Particular Concern” designation to the Christmas Day strike justified under the banner of “counter‑ISIS,” Sango explains how manufactured terrorism is used to justify intervention, destabilise governments, and secure U.S. strategic interests. He also examines how religious institutions in Nigeria function as pillars of the neo‑colonial state, and why scientific socialist organising has become essential to countering their political influence.

Sango offers a clear assessment of the Alliance of Sahel States’ media restrictions, the role of military security in revolutionary state‑building, and the emerging strategic partnerships with China and Russia. He argues that these alliances represent a break from Western dependency, not a lateral shift to new imperial masters, and outlines the tasks ahead for MAE as Africa enters a new phase of anti‑imperialist struggle.

Sango Omojola, Socialist and Pan-Africanist activist, member of revolutionary Pan Africanist, grassroots organization, Movement for African Emancipation, based in Lagos, Nigeria.

  • Batool Subeiti | Israel Cornered. US Unravelling. Iran at Tipping Point?
    Feb 4 2026

In episode 62 of Global Majority for Peace, Ileana Chan speaks with Lebanese British Political Analyst, Batool Subeiti about the rapidly shifting balance of power in West Asia and the global system at large. Batool breaks down why Israel now finds itself in an increasingly untenable position, why U.S. power is visibly unravelling across the region, and how Iran has emerged as the decisive force shaping the next phase of regional and global politics.

Drawing on the aftermath of the post‑al‑Aqsa war, Batool explains how the Axis of Resistance survived what Western governments hoped would be a fatal blow, and why its resilience has pushed Washington to the edge of a strategic reckoning. She argues that Israel’s very existence depends on uninterrupted American backing, yet U.S. capacity to sustain that support is weakening under the weight of global realignments, public opinion shifts, and the rise of multipolar alternatives.

Batool Subeiti is Lebanese British Energy Engineer and political analyst based in London.

  • Radhika Desai on Why Capitalism Doesn’t Innovate: US's Inevitable Imperial Decline and China's Socialist Alternative
    Jan 28 2026

Why Capitalism Doesn’t Innovate: US's Inevitable Imperial Decline and China's Socialist Alternative

In episode 61 of Global Majority for Peace, Ileana Chan speaks with gepolitical economist Radhika Desai @RadDesai about three of the most urgent questions shaping global politics today: why capitalism is not an innovative model, why the United States is undergoing an inevitable imperial decline, and how China’s socialist system offers a coherent alternative in both technological development and global governance.

Radhika dismantles the myth that “capitalism drives innovation,” arguing that real breakthroughs have always depended on public investment, planning, and collective scientific effort rather than the profit motive. Capitalist economies, she explains, increasingly rely on speculation, financialisation, and the extraction of value from workers and the Global South to sustain the illusion of dynamism.
