This chapter takes us to the story of Paul and how his life was completely transformed. From persecuting to persecuted, Paul lead his life with a great passion for Jesus and making the good news known to the gentile world.

Chapter 9 looks at the principal of making disciples and how we can start within our homes! It starts with our families, and once our house is in order, then we can branch out and begin! This chapter walks us through the story of Peter and how he felt unworthy to be in the presence of Jesus, often times we too feel unqualified to fulfill what God has called us to do. It's important that we humble ourselves before God and recognize that we are forgiven, and God will equip us for the path ahead.

This week we are continuing the book, titled "How God Makes Men" by Patrick Morley.

Chapter 8 talks about the story of Job, who started out as one of the wealthiest men in his land and quickly lost everything. Job endured suffering which, from his perspective was for no apparent reason. The story of Job is a powerful one, even though he was suffering, he lost his children, his wife told him to forsake God. His friends came against him calling him to repent because "surely he has wronged God", but Job knew he was righteous and while he didn't understand why God was allowing it to happen. He never cursed God, he complained, sure, but he did not curse God. He endured, he asked questions, and by the end of Job he is restored, and the later years of his life was blessed even more than his earlier years.

Sometimes, we won't know the reason why God allows things to happen, and it's important we continue to praise God, to turn to God during those times. There are times when God will allow these things to happen to test our faith, to see if we are ready to be increased. Other times things happen because we have disobeyed, or because God wants to bring correction.
