    Dr. Pilar Alonso is a graduate of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Center, Philippines. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Agnes Hospital, MD and furthered her medical expertise at Brown University, RI specializing in Infectious Diseases.

    A greater part of her philosophy of care is to serve as an educator, empowering her patients with the tools to take control of their own health and well-being. Dr. Alonso has been practicing in Fall River since 2000. Her clinical Interests include general infectious diseases specifically musculoskeletal infections, wound care and wound healing.

    Cheryl Thompson is a registered nurse with over 33 years of experience. She began her career working in med-surg and home health services before she came to Southcoast Health's Charlton Memorial Hospital as the Director of Wound Care in 2013. Today, Cheryl serves as the Market Director for the South Coast region managing all three Southcoast Health Wound Care locations in Fall River, New Bedford and Wareham, Massachusetts.     BIO:

    Dr. Matthew Philips is a neurological surgeon in practice with Southcoast Neurosurgery. He is the Chief of Brain & Spine at Southcoast Health and on the medical staff at St. Lukes Hospital in New Bedford, Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River and Tobey Hospital in Wareham.

    A native of New Bedford, Dr. Philips is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania and subspecialty fellowship training in complex and reconstructive spinal surgery.

    He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Joint Sections of Trauma and Critical Care and Spinal and Peripheral Nerves and North American Spine Society.

    In addition to spinal reconstruction, Dr. Philips has a special interest in spine tumors, degenerative disease of the spine, brain tumors, traumatic brain injury and surgical treatment of epilepsy.

    Dr. Philips is board certified in neurological surgery.
