    Peter Macfadyen joins Lyndsey to discuss his long-time commitment to Frome, gardening, local politics and community projects and highlights how the 2011 independent council refresh transformed local governance. Peter discusses why he wrote his book Flat Pack Democracy, launched Loop Frome (a commercial food-waste collection and hot composting) and his involvement in Green & Healthy Frome.

    Guest - Seb & Elia Takkos

    Elia (from STEP — Somerset Team for Early Intervention in Psychosis) and Seb discussed the peer support group in Frome and what early intervention for psychosis looks like. Seb described his personal journey: years of anxiety and panic attacks escalated into a psychotic break three years ago, including frightening hallucinations, a suicide attempt, hospital admission and subsequent referral to STEP. Seb shares his recovery and encourages others to seek help.

    In this episode of Hello Frome, host Lyndsey Mayhew talks to Katie Fox the co-founder of charity Search & Scan (SAS). Along with her team of volunteers, Katie reunites lost pets with their owners across Somerset and West Wiltshire. Using community coordination, thermal imaging, microchip scanning, traps, cameras and tracking dogs. If you live in Frome and love animals you might have seen some of their remarkable rescues - it's a tear jerker this one!

    Karen chat's with Lyndsey about Spark A Change’s Get Involved Frome pilot which starts this week at The Good Heart in Frome. If you are looking for a volunteering opportunity and don't know where to start Karen and the team will be on hand to share the opportunities available and help match make you with something to suit your skills and interests.

    Drop-in sessions run at The Good Heart on Fridays from 23 January to 27 February from 10am to 12pm, Frome Medical Practice on Wednesday 28 January, 11 February and 25 February from 2pm to 3.30pm and at the Key Centre on Monday 2 Feb from 1pm to 3pm.
