    Jun 16 2022

Episode 10: How to find great furniture pieces on Facebook marketplace?

    1. Keep in mind who’s listing. Search in simple terms and multiple terms.

      1. Night Stands may be under bedroom furniture, bed side table, nightstand

    1. Search in local pickup areas (get rid of shipping if you’re looking for a true bargain)

    1. When looking for a leather sofa, you may get vinyl pieces because not everyone knows vinyl from leather.

    1. Look for styles. i.e. Chesterfield, French provincial.

    1. Don’t search for terms like: antiques, modern, contemporary. They are too subjective.

    1. If you need 6 matching chairs, search 6 chairs. Don’t worry about 6 upholstered chairs or 6 wooden chairs. Keep it broad.

    1. Search by well-known brands you know and love. Pottery Barn, Arhaus, Restoration Hardware, Ballard Designs, etc. You never know what gem you find someone giving away.

    1. Tips for how to know if something is genuine leather or not. Genuine Leather, Faux Leather, Leather Match, Bicast, Bonded, etc.. Generally, you can tell by brand. If it reclines, its most likely not full leather.

    1. Don’t worry about color. You can always paint it or stain it using ALL-IN-ONE Paint products.

“You have a great podcast with lots of ideas. I just ordered my first sample of your paint & I’m anxious to try it. But I very much like that your podcasts are about more than the great paint with decorating and other tips. Your front door color ideas made me think of it in ways I hadn’t before. You have a genuinely sweet caring way about you that I enjoy.”

  • Episode 8: Choosing Wall Colors got your stumped? Paula can help!
    Jun 2 2022

Things we’re covering on this topic:

Basics of how to choose a color story for your interior.

*Using the Layout by Instagram App in your app store

When is an accent wall appropriate?

*First wall you see when you walk in the door

*Every room doesn’t need an accent wall.

Does every room need to be the same? Or need to be different?

*Every room should continue the flow and color story

*Trim and doors should be consistent throughout the home

How does lighting affect wall colors?

*Best to update lighting first to daylight bulbs then change paint to see it in its truest form.

    Bold Color Choices vs Neutrals

*Paula is a fan of neutrals but enjoys bolder colors as accent walls or made the walls recede and push elements of your room forward (like art).
