When Jesus said "Follow Me," He wasn't making a suggestion — He was issuing a royal summons.
In this sermon, Pastor Alex Musard opens our new series through the Gospel of Mark, preaching from Mark 1:1–20. Mark wastes no time: from the very first verse he announces that Jesus is the Son of God, and the pace never lets up. We see John the Baptist preparing the way in the wilderness, Jesus' baptism and temptation, and the immediate, decisive call of Peter, Andrew, James, and John. What does it mean that they left their nets immediately? What does this passage teach us about the authority of Christ's Word, the nature of repentance, and the kind of life discipleship actually demands?
Key themes: Discipleship | The Authority of Christ | Repentance | The Kingdom of God | Expositional Preaching through Mark
