How often  have you thought of entering into Law Enforcement, such as becoming a city police officer but didn't know really anything about it. Well in this interview with a retired city police officer we go into the beginning of his career and throug out it and answer many questions you might have.

This podcast contains an interview with retired Law Enforcement Officer who worked  as a State Correctional Officer and a State Parole Officer. We begin at the beginning of her journey in preparing for this profession, the academy, training, and what it is like for the first year. In addition to the process of becoming a Parole Officer.

A brief review ( Re-visiting) of the back ground process for Law Enforcement. Then I discuss and review a list of  popular departments and some that you may  not have heard of in regards to your search for employment. Of course this is not every department out there, however it is a pretty good start. 

This second part of the podcast begins with a brief review of some points of the first podcast such as, how much delving into ones past the prospective law enforcement agency will go to get to know you. Why you should clean up your social media accounts , Facebook,  ... ect  (especially precarious and speculative photos of yourself, like drinking too much). In addition to the importance of weapon familiarity as a beginner and seeking professional training.
Then we review thoughts on which agency or department is right for you. Of course this depends on many factors we go through such as: your age, physical abilities and limitations, your mental health, your education level achieved and what they are looking for, your intelligence and learning capabilities and much more.  Lastly we review agency wages, time starting a department and leaving one, along with what to expect for retirement. 

This podcast lays out a few of the main law enforcement departments you'll begin to look into and familiarize your self too as you begin your career search. I go over some of the agencies respective duties and their scope of jurisdiction parameters. I then introduce you to some of the initial paper work you may receive when you first contact an agency, perhaps at a job fair, or online search. Lastly we go over a more in-depth discussion of the formal background packet you'll receive and the many questions the agency is going to ask you. Keep in mind each agency has their own set of questions.

Retired U.S. Marine Corps Major and LCSW,  (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) answer an array of questions about the progress of Mental Health and whether First Responders are seeking assistance when needed.  Retired Major sheds light on the progress of our military from when he started and what is available today and also looking at the cultural norms that shaped how young marines viewed mental health years ago. In addition to our LCSW's input into the basics of what to look for if you are experiencing the effects of trauma from deployments as well as understanding how to remove 'old school thinking' which has kept many military and first responders from seeking help.
