  • Putting on Christ: The atonement of Jesus Christ as covering.
    Jun 6 2026

The ancient languages behind "atonement" don't mean reconciliation. Hebrew, Arabic, Aramaic, Persian, and Egyptian all carry the same essential meaning — covering. The Hebrew kaphar wraps and overlays. Egyptian depicts the atonement as a sacred ritual embrace in which a god covers a king, foot by foot, knee facing knee, hand to back, mouth to nose, breathing divine life into his royal heir. This essay argues that recovering this linguistic reality doesn't replace the familiar "at-one-ment" reading — it expands it considerably, reconnecting the atonement of Jesus Christ to its scriptural treatment and, critically, to the clothing rites and sacred embrace of His House.

Through three grand coverings progressively applied in the endowment — the garment, the robes, and the sacred embrace — this essay traces what it means to put on Christ in the ancient sense: to be covered by Him, clothed in Him, enabled by Him, and finally to receive from Him the divine life that is His own nature. Each covering marks a fundamental shift — in our position within His household, in the portion of His name we carry, and in the degree of divine presence we are prepared to bear.

  • The Three-part Space: The fundamental pattern of scripture and temple worship.
    Apr 30 2026

There is a pattern woven through scripture so consistently that once you see it, you cannot unsee it. From the Garden of Eden to the tabernacle of Moses, from Jacob's ladder to the parable of the prodigal son, the same three-part structure appears again and again — moving from the profane toward the holy, from the far country back into the Father's house.

In this essay, we trace that pattern across the full sweep of scripture and temple worship: spatial, relational, liturgical, narrative. Not as a curiosity, but as a key. A key that, once in hand, transforms your experience of everything you thought you already understood.

The essay explores how the three spaces of the ancient tabernacle — Courtyard, Holy Place, and Holy of Holies — illuminate the kingdoms of glory in ways that shift them from abstract post-resurrection destinations to present realities the covenant path is designed to move us through now. It asks what it means to be admitted, what greater nearness costs, and what it is the Great High Priest alone can do — and has done — for us.

  • A Day of Burning: Escaping the judgements of God soon to be poured out.
    Oct 21 2025

In this sobering address, The Quiet Dissident recounts a hard-won gift of the Spirit and the divine correction that taught him its true source. What follows is a prophetic message not of his own choosing, but of the Lord’s: a scriptural witness of impending judgment upon a rebellious world and a lukewarm church.

Drawing from Nahum, Habakkuk, and Doctrine & Covenants, this episode testifies that President Nelson’s labor of heart preparation has reached its close, and that President Oaks may now stand as a sign of prophetic judgement in a day of decision.

The time for smooth things has passed. What remains is how we might still, even now, through repentance and humility, apply the atoning blood of Christ that the wrath may pass over us. And experience the piercing joy of His amazing grace.
