In Episode 24, We Are the Future, we turn our focus to what happened after October 7 - how Hamas’ violence was reframed, justified, and normalized inside the United States. After tracing Hamas’ evolution and infrastructure in America, and after hearing directly from victims, survivors, and witnesses of the October 7 massacre, this episode confronts the narrative battle that followed: the repackaging of mass murder, rape, torture, and kidnapping as “resistance” and “self-defense” for Western audiences.

Head of Terrorism Research Lara Burns spoke with Dr. Cochav Elkayem-Levy who heads a Civil Commission that investigates and documents the sexual torture and atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023. In that investigative and archiving process, Dr. Elkayem-Levy and her team, along with other scholars around the world, discovered a new form of torture being used by Hamas that targets family units.

In Episode 22, The Unfolding of Tragedy, we speak with a teenage boy whose mother was murdered on top of him on the morning of October 7, 2023. We then speak with Maya Roman, a feminist activist from Israel, who describes events from Kibbutz Be'eri on that day, including the kidnapping of her cousin by Hamas. At the end of the episode, we revisit statements by Nihad Awad, the Executive Director of the Council on American Islamic Relations, wherein he described the events of October 7 in terms strikingly inconsistent with the atrocities that occurred that day.
