    Genesis 1–2 | Moses 2–3 | Abraham 4

    ✨ Episode Summary

If Come, Follow Me has ever felt overwhelming or like one more thing on your already full plate, this episode is for you.

This week, we walk through the creation accounts in Genesis 1–2, Moses 2–3, and Abraham 4 with fresh eyes keeping things simple, peaceful, and Christ-centered.

The creation story isn’t just about how the world was made. It’s about who God is, who you are, and how God works with order, love, and rest—especially in the middle of busy mom life.

    No overthinking.

    No perfectionism.

Just truth, peace, and Jesus—one insight at a time.

🌍 The Days of Creation (Quick Overview)

Day 1 – Light: God brought light and separated it from darkness, bringing clarity and order.

Day 2 – Sky: God created space and separation, showing He values breathing room.

Day 3 – Land & Plants: God prepared the earth before growth began, fruit follows preparation.

Day 4 – Sun, Moon & Stars: God established rhythms, seasons, and time.

Day 5 – Birds & Fish: Life filled the sky and sea, movement, joy, and abundance.

Day 6 – Animals & Humans: God created man and woman in His image, intentional and deeply valued.

Day 7 – Rest: God rested and sanctified the day, rest is holy and part of God’s design.

    📖 Key Scriptures Discussed

Genesis 1:31 – God saw that all He created was very good.

Moses 2:27 – We are created in the image of God.

Moses 3:2 – God rested... not because He was tired, but because rest is sacred.

    💛 A Message for Moms

    God is not rushed.

God is not disappointed in slow progress.

And He is not asking you to do more than you can give.

From the very beginning, God shows us that His work is orderly, intentional, and good and so is His work in you.

    You are not behind.

    You are not failing.

And what you are doing counts.

👩‍👧 Simple Way to Teach This to Kids

One sentence you can share this week:

“God created the world with love and order and He created you the same way.”

At the table or in the car, ask:

“What did God say was good today?”

    Small moments matter.

    🌱 Gentle Invitation This Week

Notice where God is already at work not what’s unfinished or loud, but what is good.

    One verse.

    One prayer.

    One pause.

    That’s enough.

  • 02 Come Follow Me. Jan 5 - Jan 11th. Moses 1 and Abraham 3. Week 2
    Jan 6 2026
Episode 2 Episode: Moses 1 & Abraham 3 Come, Follow Me | January 5–11 Christ Meets You in the Chaos This week in Come, Follow Me Moms, we’re studying Moses 1 and Abraham 3 and it feels like God knew overwhelmed, tired, questioning moms needed these chapters. These scriptures speak straight to: Identity Worth Perspective And how close God really is If motherhood has felt chaotic, ordinary, or heavy lately this episode is for you. Top Scriptures for This Week Moses 1:2 Moses 1:4–5 Moses 1:10 Moses 1:39 Abraham 3:22–23 Abraham 3:27 The Big Takeaway This Week Christ meets you in your chaos. Not when life is quiet. Not when you’ve “caught up.” Right where you are. Moses 1: Identity Before Assignment Moses 1 comes from Joseph Smith’s inspired translation of the Bible and records a powerful vision given to Moses before he returns to Egypt to lead Israel. Before Moses does anything big… God reminds him who he is. “And he saw God face to face, and he talked with him…” (Moses 1:2) Moses is transfigured so he can endure God’s presence teaching us that God strengthens those He calls. “Behold, thou art my son…” (Moses 1:4) Why This Matters to Moms Before God asks anything of Moses, He reminds him of his identity. And God wants you to know who you are too. You are a daughter of God before the to-do list, before the chaos, before the calling. “Man Is Nothing” What Moses Is Really Learning “Now, for this cause I know that man is nothing…” (Moses 1:10) This isn’t about worthlessness. It’s about dependence on God. As moms, we often feel pressure to do everything alone. Moses teaches us: Weakness doesn’t disqualify you It qualifies you to rely on God God makes weak things strong. Moses vs. Satan You Have More Power Than You Think In Moses 1:13–16, Moses confronts Satan and refuses to be deceived. “For behold, I am a son of God…” Moses recognizes truth because he knows who he is. When Moses calls on God for help, he is strengthened and Satan is commanded to depart. Motherhood Application That power wasn’t just for Moses. You can call on heaven. You can pray out loud. You can ask for strength. You can tell Satan, “Get thee hence.” God is bigger than your fears. Bigger than your doubts. Bigger than the chaos. Moses 1:39 - Motherhood Is God’s Work “For behold, this is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” God’s work is people. Which means your work as a mom: Folding laundry Teaching kids Wiping tears Showing up on hard days Is holy work. You are not distracted from God’s work. You are doing God’s work. Abraham 3 : Your Children Are Not Random In Abraham 3, we learn about: Pre-earth life The eternal nature of spirits God’s divine plan “And God saw these souls that they were good…” (Abraham 3:22–23) Your children were known, loved, and seen by God before they came to you. You were chosen to be their mom not because you’re perfect, but because you are who they need. “Here Am I, Send Me” A Mother’s Prayer “Here am I, send me.” (Abraham 3:27) Motherhood often feels like sacrifice and that’s okay. A powerful mindset shift for this season: “Here am I, God with what I have, where I am.” Meet me in the mess. Meet me in the chaos. Meet me here. Teaching This Week as a Family (Simple Ideas) Read one verse out loud together Watch a short identity-focused video Act out Moses meeting God and standing up to Satan Let kids repeat the scripture after you End with a fun family treat (Muddy Buddies are a favorite!) Keep it simple. Keep it joyful. Invitation for the Week As you go about your real, busy, imperfect days, gently ask yourself: What is God trying to remind me about who I am? And where might He be inviting me to say, “Here am I”? You don’t have to do Come, Follow Me perfectly for it to matter. Every small effort counts. Christ is with you right in the middle of your life. If this episode blessed you, please share it with another mom who could use peace this week, and come join me on Instagram at Come Follow Me Moms. Until next time Christ is with you in the chaos. 🤍 Transfiguration https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/gs/transfiguration?lang=eng Moses 1:4-5 https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/pgp/moses/1?lang=eng&verse=4&context=4-5#p4 Moses 1:10 https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/pgp/moses/1?lang=eng&verse=10#p10 Moses 1: 13-16 https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/pgp/moses/1?lang=eng&verse=13&context=13-16#p13 Moses 1:39 https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/pgp/moses/1?lang=eng&verse=39#p39 Our True Identity Video - This is good for FHE https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/media/video/2010-04-0020-our-true-identity?lang=eng Abraham 3 https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/pgp/abr/3?lang=eng Abraham 3:22-23 https://...
