About this listen
Hello, I’m Paul, and this is the Equilibrium Method podcast. This will be about that isn't mean't to be read in a conventional sense?
Today I want to share a concept for a book I’m currently working on not to promote it, not to explain it fully, but to let you feel what it’s pointing toward.
Because the book itself isn’t linear.
It doesn’t teach.
And it isn’t meant to be read in the usual way.
In fact, the best way I can describe it is this:
The book is spherical.
The Problem with Linear Books
Most books assume something about you.
They assume you’re missing information.
They assume progress happens step by step.
They assume that if you follow the right sequence, you’ll arrive somewhere better.
But in my work — in bodywork, in nervous system regulation, in energy work, even in personal training — that’s not actually how change happens.
People don’t transform because they’re told the next thing to do.
They transform when the right thing meets them at the right moment, and their system is ready to stabilise it.
That isn’t linear.
It’s positional.
It’s relational.
It’s embodied.
So a traditional “chapter one, chapter two” book didn’t feel honest.
What a Spherical Book Is
A spherical book has no beginning and no end.
You don’t start it.
You arrive at it.
You can open it anywhere.
You can read one line and close it.
You can come back months later and find that the same passage says something completely different or nothing at all.
That’s not because the book has changed.
It’s because you have.
The book doesn’t chase you with answers.
It waits until something in you is already asking.
What the Book Refuses to Do
This part matters.
The book deliberately refuses certain things.
It doesn’t tell you who you are.
It doesn’t promise outcomes.
It doesn’t explain mechanisms.
It doesn’t give steps, techniques, or timelines.
And that’s not to be mysterious or clever.
It’s because explanation can sometimes override agency.
It can short-circuit the body’s own intelligence.
In my sessions, the moment I over-explain, something collapses.
When I say just enough the system reorganises itself.
The book follows the same ethic.
Nothing here acts on you.
Nothing here tells you what to do.
What It Allows Instead
Instead of instruction, the book offers orientation.
Short passages.
Simple statements.
Things that don’t argue with you.
Lines that might feel obvious one day —
and uncomfortably precise another.
Some people will open it and feel nothing.
That’s not failure.
It just means the passage they need hasn’t appeared yet.
Because the book responds not to curiosity, but to presence.
When a Passage Appears
In the framework I’m working with, a passage appears only when three things line up:
Your body is relatively settled.
Your attention is honest.
And you’re not trying to take something from the text.
The moment you try to extract insight, the sphere closes.
When you’re simply present, something opens.
This book isn’t a manual.
It isn’t a manifesto.
And it definitely isn’t finished in the traditional sense.
It’s more like a mirror you meet at different points in your life.
And if you open it and nothing happens that’s fine.
If one line stays with you for a while let it pass.
The book isn’t here to change you.
It’s here to meet you when you’re already changing.
Thanks for listening.
And as always
Anchoring light, awakening strength, the Equilibrium path unfolds.
