    Failures of Grace of Mediation

Good morning! This is Dr. Sanders. Thanks for joining me here. You are tuned into Soft Power, Hard Peace!

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe out there as you commute and go throughout your day!

Thanks for waking up with me this morning! I am thankful for your time and connection!

I discussed Benefits of Mediation and Taming the Fears of Mediation in the previous weeks. It was beneficial for those two topics to be discussed to help people in conflict to be aware of the available alternative dispute resolution interventions. I hope that helped. There will be more to come.

In this episode, I hope to reach conflicting individuals out there who still need that motivation. Fair and balanced mediation has the potential of success when the right Mediator is selected to deliver the most appropriate and effective communication between parties with no puppet strings attached! It is necessary to be able to maintain neutrality in mediation by being able to dive in and brainstorm issues from a holistic point of view.

Conflicts that surface with the conversation of resolution may show signs of distasteful pressures of mediation. Not all mediation sessions will result in resolution. It takes an honest Mediator not to avoid speaking on the cons or distasteful pressures of conflict resolution.

Negative outcomes of mediation are possible. Let’s not wipe that off the slate! It can happen!

Final decisions of mediation are dependent on how the conflicting parties can work together and agree! I mentioned this in previous episodes. Fair mediation sessions holistically exploit the low instances of conflicts that remain unresolved. It is a good time to now shift gears and talk briefly about Failures of Graceful Taste of Mediation; this balances the conversation.

Mediators with a holistic view can exploit the low instances of conflicts not being able to be resolved through mediation. I know it may seem strange, but I get the question all the time, Dr. Sanders, how can you believe in one thing and tell people another? How can you function as a Mediator when you have certain beliefs? When I enter the demand for squash conflict in mediation, I accept the challenge of not falling into jumping into arbitration. It is intriguing to have the challenge, but at the same time, I find most passion from life in balancing things out by implying my sharpest skills, which are helping others analyze and brainstorm ways for implementing improvement.
