Have you ever wondered what life would be like if you just said YES?...

We’re back!!–and we’re starting Season 2 with a story about growth, courage and saying yes to opportunity.

After a short pause during a busy giving season, Worldwide Tails returns with a forward-looking episode spotlighting Vet Visions, one of Worldwide Vets’ most hands-on wildlife and veterinary experiences in South Africa. Set against Giving Tuesday–where our community raised over $6,000 for animals in Egypt through a matched fundraiser–this conversation reminds us that giving isn’t just about donations, but about showing up and getting involved.

Featuring Gretel, former APVMA President, alongside McCaelyn, a past Vet Visions volunteer and former APVMA board member, this episode explores how Vet Visions builds real-world skills, confidence and lasting perspective for aspiring vets.

This episode is for the ones holding it all together–until they can’t.

In honour of World Mental Health Day, I take us beyond the hero narrative to explore the emotional cost of care in international veterinary, wildlife, and conservation work. From compassion fatigue and burnout to moral injury and isolation, we’re pulling back the curtain on what this work really demands — and what it means to keep showing up anyway.

Featuring insights from Not One More Vet (NOMV), this candid episode weaves together personal stories, systemic truths, and field-tested strategies for staying afloat in a profession where care often comes at a cost.
