The Chicago Bears stadium saga took a major turn today. The Illinois House Revenue & Finance Committee canceled a scheduled meeting, while an Indiana committee voted 24–0 to advance a state bill aimed at developing a new Chicago Bears stadium in Hammond, Indiana. The bill now heads back to the Indiana House for consideration, adding a surprising twist to the Bears’ stadium future.

Meanwhile, the MLBPA has introduced its new executive director, a veteran with deep roots in labor law — exactly what the players’ union needed after the Tony Clark era came to a messy and controversial end.
