About this listen

The Space Between the Waves is a weekly podcast where we slow things down and listen to what life is trying to tell us. Each episode begins with one of my morning posts, followed by a deeper conversation about the meaning behind the words — the lessons, the pauses, and the moments we often miss in our busy lives.

Inspired by beach walks, early sunrises, and time spent near the water, this podcast is about reflection, perspective, and finding clarity in the quiet spaces. No rush. No noise. Just real thoughts, real stories, and a reminder that sometimes the most important moments happen between the waves.

  • The Space Between The Waves Podcast-Do it with Purpose
    Feb 11 2026
Sometimes the one thing you keep searching for is the very thing you’re already doing. I had a friend once who drove long distances picking up the recently departed and bringing them home to their families. We all thought it was a strange way to make a living, a little spooky, definitely heavy. He’d just laugh and say, “Someone has to do it. There’s a real need, and I believe I’m offering a service for those who can no longer ask.” Then he’d pause and add, “I’m sure I won’t do it forever.” What stuck with me wasn’t the job itself, but the way he talked about it. There was purpose there. Respect. Quiet dignity. He wasn’t chasing a dream job or some grand title. He was simply showing up where he was needed, doing something meaningful, even if it didn’t make sense to anyone else. A lot of people spend their lives searching, for the right job, the right calling, the right moment to begin. But sometimes the answer isn’t out there waiting to be found. Sometimes it’s already in motion. It’s the thing you’re doing naturally, the thing people rely on you for, the thing that gives you a sense of usefulness even on hard days. Not everything we’re meant to do is forever. But everything we do can teach us something about who we are and what matters to us. Remember, purpose doesn’t always arrive with applause or clarity. Sometimes it shows up quietly, disguised as work you’re already doing, asking only that you do it with care. Follow along on Tiki Bar Publishing and Tiki Man Radio for more good vibes.

  • The Space Between The Waves Podcast-Give Yourself Credit
    Feb 10 2026
Everything comes with a price, a solution, and an outcome. To reach a satisfying conclusion, you have to stay focused, pay attention to the warning signs, overcome the obstacles, and never lose sight of where you want to be. There are times in life when you find yourself in the middle of massive change. It’s like driving straight into a storm you somehow missed in the forecast. Through the haze of rain and darkness, you see flashing signs, unsure of what’s behind you or what’s ahead. All you know is you never wished for this. You didn’t plan for it, but here it is. More often than not, those storms come from someone else’s plans for you. Choices made without you, turns you never expected, situations you never would have agreed to, yet somehow, you’re the one driving through it. With careful advice, belief in yourself, and the courage to keep going, you make it through. The clouds begin to break, the sunlight returns, and steam rises from the pavement like echoes of the past finally letting go. What once felt overwhelming becomes proof that you survived something you thought you couldn’t. Remember, give yourself a little credit. You do know what you’re doing. You weren’t betrayed, you were redirected, strengthened, and prepared for what comes next. Follow along on Tiki Bar Publishing and Tiki Man Radio for more good vibes.

  • How You Treat People
    Feb 6 2026
Meanwhile, there’s an old saying passed down from those in the know that simply says, never look down on anyone unless you’re there to lift them up, because one day you might be the one needing a hand. I learned that lesson watching people come and go through the same doors year after year. Some walked in confident, certain they had it all figured out. Others came in quietly, carrying more than they let on. Funny thing is, life has a way of rearranging those roles when you’re not paying attention. The one offering advice today might be asking for it tomorrow. Time humbles us all if we let it. Jobs change. Circumstances shift. Pride softens. And the people who make the biggest difference aren’t the loud ones or the ones keeping score, they’re the ones who remember what it felt like to struggle and choose kindness anyway. Remember, how you treat people on your way up often determines who’s willing to walk beside you when the road levels out. Have a great day. See you on the radio.
