今日，全世界各地建立了無數的教會，每個主日也在其中宣講許多講道，然而，令人遺憾的是，並非所有的教會都傳講水和聖靈的福音。
人們聚集在禮拜堂中，讚美主(God)，閱讀聖經，並獻上禱告，然而，極為普遍的是，那最核心的「水和聖靈的福音，也就是關於耶穌從約翰受洗，被釘十字架而死，並且復活的話語」卻沒有被宣講。
使徒保羅對加拉太教會說：「我希奇你們這麼快離開那藉著基督之恩召你們的，去從別的福音。」
既然連初代教會的聖徒都如此容易被另一個福音所迷惑，那麼在當今這個時代，教會失去福音，反而被傳統與教義捆綁，也就不足為奇了。
今日，我們必須回顧那已失去水和聖靈福音之教會的光景，並一同省察，為何信仰的改革再次成為必要。
