Wally is a computer geek who’s convinced he’s a fantastic fisherman, all thanks to a fishing app on his computer. On the screen, he’s unstoppable — hauling in trophy fish with a tap and a swipe — even though it’s all just a game. But the narrator of his story isn’t buying it!
Determined to test Wally’s so-called skills, the narrator pulls Wally away from the screen and drops him into the real world, straight onto a motorboat at the marina where he meets Captain Cod, a salty, experienced fisherman who knows the sea far better than any algorithm.
As the boat pulls away from the dock, Wally’s virtual confidence is challenged, and he starts earning his real sea legs, learning firsthand the difference between digital success and the unpredictable reality of the open water.
