  • #6 - Global Innovation with Virginia Tech - Dr. Alex DeNoble & Dr. Devi Gnyawali & Dr. Chein-Chi Tseng & Dean Robert Sumichrast
    May 3 2022

Welcome to another episode of the Imagine Podcast - The Most Beautiful Place on Earth. We are joined by a panel of guests who have a tight-knit bond with Virginia Tech. From studying and getting their PhD to giving back by teaching and building the future at Virginia Tech.

Our guests include Dr. Alex DeNoble, Dr. Devi Gnyawali, Dr. Chein-Chi Tseng, and Dean Robert Sumichrast.

In this episode Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy talks with the panel of guests about the Prestigious Model Program Award from the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). And why this award is important to the Virginia Tech portfolio, the story of how VT had few resources for entrepreneurship, but still managed to pull off an amazing feat like this.

The Virginia Tech panel also talks about, how they are building up Virginia Tech Innovation District, which is aimed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and how this integrates with the local community. Their Living-Learning communities for entrepreneurship, which provides mentorship to students, a place to safely test ideas, and the ability to iterate and improve. As well as how other universities and global institutions can use the VT model for their programs.

Other topics include how VT is developing the future leaders for multi-national corporations like Amazon (who recently announced plans to build their 2nd headquarters in Virginia), why investing in entrepreneurship is important, and much more! This is a jam-packed episode and we hope you enjoy and share the episode with your colleagues! Thank you and enjoy!
