    May 26 2026

Our new limited edition series from Self-Harm Network Scotland focuses on how self-harm affects men, in particular.

Episode 2 is called 'Apples and Oranges' because, when it comes to self-harm, not everything is the same. In this episode, we look at men's experiences of self-harm, and talk about what differences and similarities there may be compared to a woman's experience of self-harm, or someone who identifies as non-binary.

Content note: This episode contains discussion about self-harm, including methods of self-harm. Please take care when watching or listening. If you feel affected and need support, we’re here to help — visit www.selfharmnetworkscotland.org.uk where you can access resources, training, and one-to-one support. You can also chat to us via our Live Chat every evening from 6pm - 10pm.

Host Frankee Fouin is joined by Chris Stone and Dylan Currie, Peer Practitioners at Self-Harm Network Scotland.

They bring their own lived experience to support others who self-harm.

Also in the studio is Amy Chandler, a Professor of the Sociology of Health & Illness at University of Edinburgh.

Amy’s work primarily focuses on sociological research addressing self-harm and suicide.
