  • Ruby's Nana Kay on her life lessons at 80
    May 27 2026
Hello! This Thursday, we're back with a very special Life Lessons episode. Ruby sits down with her Nana, Kay Hall! At 80 years old, Kay has lived a life marked by love, resilience, and more wisdom than we could ever fit into one conversation. In it, she shares how grief and estrangement have shown up over the decades, and the moment she had to give up her firstborn son for adoption after unexpectedly falling pregnant at 17-years-old. She also reflects on what it was like growing up as a young woman in the 1950s and 60s, from being forced to leave work after marriage, the moment she met her husband of 60 years, Keith Hall, and the heartache they went through after the loss of their second child at 40 weeks pregnant. It's a really special one. We hope you enjoy this conversation between Ruby and Kay! • Melanie Bracewell: 'My fiancé's memory loss stole our first dates'
    May 25 2026
Hello! Today, we're joined by the brilliant Melanie Bracewell - comedian, TV host, writer and one of the sharpest talents to come out of New Zealand. Mel first built a cult following as a teenage Tumblr text-post blogger before exploding onto the international stage in 2020 with her wildly accurate impersonations of former New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern. Since then, she's become a beloved presence across comedy and television. In this conversation, Mel opens up about the early stages of her relationship with her fiancé Shaun, including how his short-term memory loss shaped the beginning of their connection. Mel also candidly shares the moment she decided she got an ADHD diagnosis later in life, and how it's changed the way she understands herself and her creativity. If you’d like to support Mel, you can buy tickets to her current tour, Dilly Dallying right here!
