    In today's episode, I am honored to host Dr. Andrea Berg. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, and her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. Dr. Berg completed her residency training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT, and her Geriatrics Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. Dr. Berg is certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine.

    In today's episode, we have Dr. Tony Anene-Maidoh,M.D., a board-certified neurosurgeon with us. He specializes in minimally invasive and complex surgery of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. Additionally, he had a faculty position at Thomas Jefferson University. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Medical School in Philadelphia, PA. His internship and residency were completed at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, with a subsequent fellowship in Spine Surgery at the same institution. Dr. Maidoh's research focus involves investigating the socioeconomic factors that impact clinical outcomes in neurosurgery. He is currently in private practice based in Delaware.

    In today's episode, we are speaking with Dr. Brianna Rossiter, MD, MS. She is an internist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Forbes Hospital and UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside. She received her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is Certified in Internal Medicine by American Board of Internal Medicine. 

    Dr. Rossiter’s research interests are in medical education, specifically within the domains of medical communication, use of empathy in medical training and practice, as well as in the broad sector of women’s health education. Dr. Rossiter has presented her work and teaching both locally and nationally.

    Dr. Rossiter is a staff physician at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. She works with medical trainees at various levels, supervising both inpatient and outpatient care of Veterans. Dr. Rossiter specializes in caring for female Veterans with reproductive health concerns, including in the peripartum period.

    Dr. Rossiter's educational interest is in teaching, applying, and evaluating best practices in medical communication skills. She is a faculty leader for the interviewing content in the UPSOM and also instructs faculty in teaching communication skills.
