 “The Lack of Knowledge – Part Three” continues our walk through Hosea 4:6, responding to questions and comments from social media about Part Two. In this devotional, we take a closer look at how believers often reject “worldly systems” simply because they were created in a broken world or seem designed to benefit the rich. We sometimes even use Scripture to justify never engaging with these systems at all.
But Hosea 4:6 warns that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge—not just spiritual knowledge, but practical wisdom as well. Just as the enemy can disguise himself as an angel of light, God can also use unexpected people, tools, and systems—even those we might not label as “Christian”—to bless and sustain His people. In Scripture, God used a donkey; today, He may use financial systems, reward programs, or other structures around us.
In this episode, I share a personal testimony about using a simple 1.5% cash‑back credit card and a grocery store promotion. By wisely using these tools, we’ve been able to save significantly on gas—paying less per gallon than many others and receiving over $30 in savings in a single month. These aren’t illegal tricks or prosperity schemes; they’re everyday systems that, when approached with wisdom and discernment from God, can relieve pressure in a season of rising costs.
This devotional challenges ministers, preachers, and believers alike: are we rejecting tools God might use to help us, simply because we’ve labeled them “worldly”? Or will we seek God’s wisdom, embrace knowledge, and allow Him to guide us—even through systems we once dismissed—so that He receives glory and our lives become less burdened?
