*GREAT news! We have fixed our microphone issue!

    *Today's prompt is at 11:06

Today, enjoy the audio release of my memoir, Embodying Joy: A Heart Journal, Chapter 14, with somatic meditative journaling: stretching, taking some cleansing relaxing breaths, reflecting on the anchor of Faith, and finally settling into the page with our new meditative music, "Balance of Self," to set the margins for your pen, discovery, and appreciation.

Chapter 14 is titled, "Just a Phone Call Away," (2013-2015) and details the memory of feeling the world shift as I felt a tug from the Universe to leave the past and New York State behind. In starting a new life in the High Rockies with my beau (who I married in 2016), I also left parts of my heart half way across the country.

It is also a tale of Cross Country Cancer-being just a phone call away proved to be especially tricky when my younger sister was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Today's chapter focuses on the possibilities God creates when we open ourselves to what Martha Beck loves to call "the way of integrity."

Today's Sacred Word is from Luke 1:37 (ESV).

Today's research is from The National Cancer Institute.

A beautiful, bittersweet chapter and prompt of gratitude for your heart to remember to never entertain the "impossible" when it comes to God's loving and sovereign Hand.

The Winter Sojourn series will lead up to the re-release of my memoir, complete with a revised title, new cover, and three new stories. Coming Spring 2026!

*Catch up on recent season 6 episodes and chapters 1-13 in previous podcast seasons!

*Chapter 13 we had some audio issues but thankfully these are resolved!

  • Winter Sojourn-Autism for Christmas but We Strummed Along: Embodying Joy: A Heart Journal

I apologize...I need a new mic! I may even re-record this episode but I was on a responsibility deadline to have an episode out every Friday. Please check out my previous episodes to hear the better quality but this story is heartfelt. Thank you for your patience as I replace my trusty mic, a girl's best friend in the podcasting world!

Today, enjoy the audio release of my memoir, Embodying Joy: A Heart Journal, Chapter 13, with somatic meditative journaling: stretching, taking some cleansing relaxing breaths, reflecting on the anchor of Faith, and finally settling into the page with our new meditative music, "Balance of Self," to set the margins for your pen, discovery, and appreciation.

Chapter 13 is titled, "One Red Request," (2006) and details the memory of the Christmas we faced news of our son's diagnosis with Autism. It was also the year we discovered we could face this diagnosis with hope and with heart, especially when we reached for the music and magic inspired by our son's one request from Santa, a red acoustic guitar.

Follow our questions, inspiration, and hope today from diagnosis to how proud we are of our son today.

We couldn't have done any of this without the help of God, family, friends, and especially the brave and caring educators, therapists, and specialists on our son's team from CPSE advocates to ACCESS-VR services today. Although we did not live in a community with a place like Living Resources, where in my career I currently serve individuals with disabilities, our current home in the Capital Region is blessed to have such professional, compassionate services for people with Autism and developmental disabilities with dignity, independence, and purpose in mind.

Check out Living Resources, especially their new Art Gallery celebrating their individuals' creative contributions to our community at: https://www.livingresources.org/mission/

A beautiful chapter and prompt of gratitude toward the last ten minutes of the episode, your heart will remember to never question miracles in unlikely and often questioned places today.

The Winter Sojourn series will lead up to the re-release of my memoir, complete with a revised title, new cover, and three new stories. Coming Spring 2026!

  • Winter Sojourn-My Newborn and I Collapsed Eternity: Embodying Joy: A Heart Journal
    Jan 10 2026

***Today's prompt is located at: 13:21

Today, enjoy the audio release of my memoir, Embodying Joy: A Heart Journal, Chapter 12 today, with somatic meditative journaling: stretching, taking some cleansing relaxing breaths, reflecting on the anchoring Word, and finally settling into the page with our new meditative music, "Balance of Self," to set the margins for your pen, discovery, and appreciation.

Chapter 12 is titled, "Collapsing Eternity," (2002-2003) and details the memory of collapsing space and time, recalling the love of my late grandfather and how in the eyes of my newborn named after him, I collapsed eternity, connecting with him, my late birth mother, and my home within myself, a prayer that continues today as I pray continually without ceasing, ever thankful for who I came from and the gift my son continues to be.

A tale of two Raymonds, my adoptive grandfather, Papa Raymond S. Wilson, and my son, Raymond P. Burroughs, connected through me, thanks to the late Theresa N. Drake, the birth mother who released me for adoption, who I only met in my newborn son's eyes.

A beautiful chapter and prompt of gratitude, the bittersweet song of love beyond eternity.

The Winter Sojourn series will lead up to the re-release of my memoir, complete with a revised title, new cover, and three new stories. Coming Spring 2026!
