Welcome to Series 3, episode 2. Today, we're shining a spotlight on an often overlooked but incredibly vital topic: men's mental health. The remarkable Trevor Dias is joining me for this pivotal episode!

In this enlightening instalment, Trevor and I delve deep into the heart of men's mental well-being. We believe it's time to break down the barriers and energize men to discuss their feelings openly. Society has long perpetuated the idea that men should suppress their emotions, but it's time for a change. By encouraging open dialogue and vulnerability, we can empower men to embrace their feelings and seek the support they need.

Trevor brings invaluable insights to the table as we discuss the societal pressures and stereotypes that often prevent men from opening up about their mental health.

  • Memories of Sylvia Gore "Womens Football Pioneer"
    Feb 20 2024

Welcome to our first podcast of 2024. It's a deeply personal journey through the captivating world of women's football. Today, we shine a spotlight on a remarkable individual whose impact goes way beyond the boundaries of the pitch - Sylvia Gore. What makes this exploration even more poignant is the fact that Sylvia was not only a trailblazer in women's football but also held a special place in my heart as my cousin.

In a time when the Football Association (FA) turned a blind eye to women's football, Sylvia defied convention and carved out her own path to greatness. Her unwavering passion for the game and her indomitable spirit propelled her to become a true pioneer in the sport.

Sylvia's journey reached its pinnacle when she made history by scoring the first goal for England in an international match after decades of exclusion. This momentous achievement showcased her exceptional talent and symbolized a triumph of resilience over adversity.

As I reflect on Sylvia's remarkable legacy, I am reminded of the countless lives she touched and the countless dreams she inspired. Her courage, determination, and unyielding belief in the power of women's football continue to reverberate through the generations, shaping the landscape of the sport we love.

Throughout this episode, I am honoured to be joined by three former women footballers whose lives intersected with Sylvia's in profound ways. Together, we'll share cherished memories, personal anecdotes, and heartfelt reflections, offering a glimpse into Sylvia's extraordinary impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

So, dear listeners, I invite you to join me on this deeply personal journey as we celebrate the life and legacy of Sylvia Gore - not only as a pioneering figure in women's football but also as a beloved cousin whose spirit continues to inspire us all.

  • You would think we would know better by now... "you dumb ass..."!
    Mar 18 2022

This for me was a fun conversation about a very serious topic, it touches on the current war and therefore I want people to be aware of that before you listen to the podcast.

Lucija Popovska is... and I have said this to her face....  a crazy, energetic, outrageous lady who swears like a trouper and doesnt care what people think. This is a quieter more thoughtful side to her that I hope you like.

But maybe next time we get wine and you all get to find out about her wild side :)

Lucija spent several decades in international development, focusing on human rights, specifically the right to housing, housing finance and the way it may (or may not) marry microfinance, and the role of technology in it.

She has been lucky to have lived for shorter and not so very short periods in 11 countries on 3 continents. Her major achievement in life is that she managed to enjoy all of them.

Lucija believes she is a good cook (and is sometimes right), loves her wine (always), sails small boats (whenever she can) and enjoys learning languages (everywhere). Sometimes the four interfere.

She helps manage a software company. Despite that, the company is doing very well.
