About this listen

Ladies First Not Really pulls back the velvet curtain on the 19th and early 20th centuries—an era that loved to say “ladies first” while quietly shuffling women to the back when it came to rights, autonomy, and basic medical sense. This podcast digs into the real lives of everyday women: how they worked, loved, endured, and navigated a world full of corsets, social rules no one asked for, and doctors confidently diagnosing “hysteria” like it was a real thing. Smart history, dry humor, and a well-placed side-eye at the past included.Sarah Dye World
