  • Iamblichus: The Architect of Theurgical Neoplatonism
    May 19 2026

Meet Iamblichus of Chalcis—the philosopher who transformed Neoplatonism forever but rarely gets the spotlight he deserves. Born around 242 CE in the Roman Empire’s eastern provinces, Iamblichus created one of the most comprehensive philosophical systems in ancient history, bridging reason and ritual, philosophy and religion, intellect and divine practice.

In this video, we explore: • The turbulent 3rd-century world where Iamblichus lived (political chaos, spiritual hunger, Christianity’s rise) • His philosophical lineage: Plotinus → Porphyry → Iamblichus • Why he broke from Plotinus: the fallen soul, the need for divine help, and the limits of pure contemplation • His elaborate cosmic hierarchy: dozens of divine levels, gods, daemons, heroes, and souls • Theurgy explained: sacred ritual as genuine metaphysical practice, not mere symbolism • His Pythagorean mathematics: how numbers structure reality itself • His lasting legacy: from Islamic philosophy to Renaissance mysticism to modern esotericism

Iamblichus argued that philosophy without practice is empty, and ritual without understanding is superstition. His vision of integrating reason and ritual remains strikingly relevant today.

  • The Philosophy of Confucius: Foundations of Harmony and Virtue
    May 9 2026

Who Was Confucius? A 2,500-Year-Old Philosophy That Still Shapes Our World

Step back over 2,500 years to a time of chaos and war in ancient China. Into this turmoil walked a man with no army, no divine mandate, and no magical powers—yet his ideas would shape the moral foundations of East Asian civilization for two and a half millennia.

In this lecture, we explore the life and philosophy of Confucius (Kong Qiu, 551–479 BCE) and discover why his wisdom remains urgently relevant today.

    What You’ll Learn:

The historical chaos that sparked Confucian thought

Core concepts: Ren (benevolence), Li (ritual/propriety), Xiao (filial piety)

The ideal of the Junzi (the exemplary person)

The Five Key Relationships that structure social harmony

Confucianism’s lasting impact across China, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam

  • Aristotle: The Architect of Western Thought
    May 5 2026

What if I told you that one man invented how we think — not just what we think about, but the very structure of rational thought itself?

In this lecture, we explore the life, method, and enduring legacy of Aristotle (384–322 BCE) — the polymath who built the foundations of Western civilization. From formal logic and metaphysics to ethics and politics, Aristotle didn’t just contribute to philosophy; he created the framework that would dominate intellectual life for over two millennia.

    What we cover:

How Aristotle went from Plato’s star student to his greatest critic The revolutionary empirical method that prefigured modern science Key concepts: substance, form, matter, actuality, potentiality, and the four causes Virtue ethics and the pursuit of eudaimonia (human flourishing) The Golden Mean and why character matters more than rules Politics as the natural expression of our “political animal” nature How Aristotle’s ideas traveled through the Islamic Golden Age, medieval scholasticism, and into modern philosophy Why contemporary thinkers are returning to Aristotle today Whether you’re new to philosophy or looking to deepen your understanding, this lecture reveals why Aristotle remains urgently relevant — and why the question “How should we live?” is just as vital now as it was in ancient Athens.
