About this listen

You just realized you're a raging lesbian...and you're not exactly a teenager anymore. Now what?

Lesbian, Interrupted is a podcast for the late blooming sapphics who feel like they have major catching up to do. Maybe you have an ex-husband (or three) with some kids, and absolutely have better things to do than worry about whether you're "doing gay right." You're in the right place, queen!

We're here to dish on the unfiltered when it comes about to dating (and loving) women when you actually know what you want (game changer), navigating queer and/or lesbian spaces without apologizing for showing up when you did, saying "no thanks" to things that don't serve you - even if other queer people think you should try them - and building the kind of authentic life that makes you excited to wake up in the morning and find your f*cking person.

It's time to cover everything from turning down throuple invitations to figuring out which Pride events are actually your vibe (you don't have to go to all of them, promise!).

Whether you came out last year or a decade ago, whether you're a stem or a stud or a fem or futch or masc (or you don't know what those terms even mean) whether you knew at 5 and suppressed it or genuinely had no clue until recently - welcome.

This space is for you.

Content note: This podcast discusses LGBTQ+ topics, coming out experiences, sexuality, relationships, and occasionally touches on topics like divorce, family dynamics, and mental health.

Homo Fomo: The feeling that you came out too late in life and now, you have too much catching up to do to truly be considered part of the queer community. Alright, maybe I made the term up, but sue me! It's a real feeling and a good amount of us have been there, right?

In this episode, we talk a little bit about the all too common experience of feeling like you have to rush to the finish line after officially coming out. The truth is, there's no finish line.

    Queerness isn't a race. It's a way of living.

And you're the only person who gets to decide what that looks like for you.

Welcome to the very first episode of Lesbian, Interrupted: the podcast for sapphics who showed up to the party a little late and have some catching up to do!

I'm your host, Brooke, and in this episode, I'm introducing myself, sharing a bit of my pipeline-esque coming out story, and explaining exactly why this podcast needed to exist.

Here's the thing: I spent months searching for a lesbian podcast that actually spoke to my experience...the confusion, the late realizations, the years of dating men and wondering why it never felt right. But so many queer podcasts out there are just "queer in general," and while that's great, I needed something more specific. I needed a space that centered sapphic identity and queer women's culture.

I couldn't find it, so I made it.

Whether you're freshly out, still questioning, or you've been here for years and just want some community, you're in the right place. And hey, if you want to keep up with the show between episodes, follow us on Instagram! @lesbianinterruptedpodcast.
