• Talking About Not Knowing What to Say (LFTR 114)
    Feb 22 2026

This week we’re back again, and while we say we’re speechless we all know that’s impossible. At least we’re taking care of our tum-tums but friends, we’re having a hard time knowing what to say or do. In other words we’re all over the place. We cover picking the rig up and taking it to Cascade Locks, OR. Then we talk a little about the atrocities, because we can’t avoid it forever. We wrap with a fantastical and 100% happening LFTR Ham radio resistance, Jamie’s beautiful watercolors, and how we’re all screwed financially.

  • 2026 - Revel in the Weirdness
    Jan 12 2026

We’re coming back! No guarantees about being better than ever or anything but we are nonetheless podcasting once more. We discuss what went wrong, what was great that you missed, and what we’re hoping 2026 might be like.

Talking points: 2026 revel in the weirdness! PEACE. Clay’s health journey, Jamie’s actual journey, earthshattering opinions we didn’t share, the new Leavenworth digs, a new truck (a Ford named Tanya!) and the wild windstorm that damaged our house and rig

  • LFTR 111 - Go to Bend!
    Aug 31 2025

If you love beer, bands and big skies, you’d love Bend, Oregon. We spent a week there and in nearby Sisters doing some good old fashioned eating, drinking and shopping. Oh and we also saw two great concerts, played in the Deschutes River and enjoyed a great state park where littlest once again made a friend.

  • LFTR 110 - Kids in Breweries and Secret Hitler
    Aug 18 2025

What’s this? A letter? In this episode we talk about trail running and normal life in Leavenworth. But then Jamie reads a letter and we remember game nights and a particular game that included a timely lesson for us all. We proceed to scream into the void for 45 minutes*.

Oh, and there’s something about people not wanting kids in breweries? What’s this world coming to?

    *Ok more like 25.

  • LFTR 109 - Bumpy Ass Hell
    Aug 11 2025

In our epic conclusion to our 2025 summer RV trip we go to hell and back! A stopover at one more well known craft brewery and a day .5 at Lassen Volcanic NP went straight into our trek back home. But we had to end it where we started with one more stop at Dru Bru (where we came to you from on the last cast!)

Thanks for following along on our RV adventures! We’ll have some letter and tales style episodes coming up for you next, along with an RV trip to Bend and maybe even a solo Jamie trip that’s not just for service appointments!

FYI - The Bumpass Hell trail is 3 miles total, out and back

    Aug 2 2025

Welcome back to the summer road trip! We’ve got a Dru Bru sour in the growler and we’re getting silly recounting our adventures on the surface of the sun aka Pinnacles NP. Then oldest makes her podcast debut reviewing roller coasters at California’s Great America and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

Thanks again to Leslie and Steve for getting together at Russian River and for the fresh boysenberries! So great!

  • LFTR 107 - Sequoia and Kings Canyon
    Jul 24 2025

Week 4/5 of Summer 2025! We ditched the beaches and headed for the hills - the giant sequoias and mountains of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks to be specific. Come along with us as we recount our favorite campgrounds hikes and ranger talks in these parks that quickly stole our hearts.

*Generals Highway Length Limits - The section we mentioned between Giant Forest Museum and Foothills Visitor Center is not advised for vehicles longer than 22/24 ft, and prohibited for single vehicles longer than 40 ft and combination vehicles longer than 50 ft.

**Tokopah Falls trail is “pretty exposed” to the sun - it is not exposed in the sense of cliffs by the trail for really any of it.

***Big Meadows Campground is a Sequoia Natl Forest campground but is not dispersed camping as we said it was. It is reservable on recreation.gov. It has a few 40ft+ sites.
