There are A LOT of talented people in this industry. But even with all the talent, there are very few people as genuine and funny as my special guest today!! Katie Jostock is a midwestern mom with a bright, warm, friendly, and passionate voice. Each day, she gets to do not one, but two of the things she loves to do most: voice acting and raising her beautiful 5-yr-old son. He reminds her of why she’s doing this. She wants to show him that it is possible to pursue his dreams--even if they seem unattainable.

4 months guys!! We are just about 4 months away from MAVO2026 now!! Can you believe how fast this year is going!? It’s absolutely crazy how fast time flies!!

I’m SO excited about our special guest today. I’ll be chatting with Anne Flosnik! Anne will be a guest speaker at MAVO2026 on November 13-15 and she will be covering the audiobook genre!

Anne is accomplished, trusted, award winning, British actress, specializing in audiobook narration. Her parents came from the South of Ireland, and she grew up in Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North East of England. She has been narrating audiobooks professionally since 1996, when she began her career as a Studio Narrator for the Library Of Congress, at Potomac Talking Books, in Bethesda, Maryland.

She is known for her range, proficiency with accents from all around the world, and the clarity, nuance and emotional depth she brings to her work.

At MAVO2026, Anne will present a general session, breakout session, mastery session and she will be on a panel.

We’re gearing up for a “snowpocalypse” here in Virginia – so what better
time than now to start Season 6 of my podcast! Hi!! Thanks for tuning in to
another episode of “Live with Squacky”! I’m your host, Val Kelly – otherwise
known as “Squackyvoice”!! Today on our show I’ll be chatting with the
super talented Kelsey Painter – otherwise known as “The VO Opossum”!!
I’m pretty sure crossed paths with Kelsey several years ago at an online event - but only really had the chance to have real conversation with her and work with
her in my mastery session on Characters that I hosted with Nate Begle this
past November at MAVO2025! She’s hilarious and so talented!!

Kelsey’s University and early professional background is in classical and
contemporary theatre, through which she developed expert script analysis
skills and explored a vast spread of different acting techniques and
approaches. Kelsey describes herself as a “one of a kind, out of left field,
funky weirdo, who is great for your environment (aka project)!” She brings
sparkle and grit to every character she voices regardless of size, shape or
galactic origin. Kelsey has a lot of success in interactive projects such as
video games and animation projects.
