  • Joe Boyd
    Nov 25 2022

Joe’s contribution to and knowledge of popular music in the 60’s and 70’s is second to none. He worked with Electra Records, Warner Brothers, Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention, Nick Drake, REM and countless others. Joni Mitchell stayed with him when she first came to London. He collaborated with Stanley Kubrick on the soundtrack to 'A Clockwork Orange'. He produced several films, including the documentary on Jimi Hendrix released in 1973, and the recent Aretha Franklin film' Amazing Grace'.

It was a pleasure to sit down with him, and pick his brains about the importance of this shoot, this image, and how it became one of the most popular images of Jimi Hendrix.
