    Dan is a celebrated masters athlete in his mid-60s, who known for his extraordinary achievements in running. A Boulder resident since 1977, he has set multiple age-group world and U.S. records in middle-distance events, earning him a reputation as one of the fittest and most dedicated runners in the masters category. His story embodies the spirit of Boulder’s vibrant running community, where he trains daily while balancing a professional career in business consulting.

    In 2020, at age 61, he set a world record in the men’s 60-64 mile (4:49.08), along with U.S. masters records in the mile (4:53.01 on road), 3,000m (9:58.77), and 5,000m (16:48.67).

    Beyond his running accomplishments, Dan is a kind, humorous, and smart individual, and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with him.
