Our distinguished guests bring perspectives from academia, development, governance, and community building:

Meredith Lehman is a PhD student in organizational behavior at the University of Colorado Boulder, conducting qualitative research on DAOs as testing grounds for innovation in people-centered governance. Her work examines the changing landscape of work and organizational structures.

Sean "Aphilos" Gonzalez brings experience from physics, startups, and community building, including founding Data Community DC. His work with Lobby3 and current projects focuses on applying web3 concepts to prevent plutocracy and increase democratic participation.

Jaris James is the founder of DAO Space, a discovery engine for DAOs, and the Open Source People's Network (OSPN). As a data scientist and developer, he focuses on integrating AI tools to enhance DAO governance and community engagement.

JengaJoJo, involved in DAOs since 2021, founded DAOplomats, a professional organization working with top web3 entities. His team of five spans the globe, currently working with ENS and Shutter.

BanklessDAO is undergoing both a name change and a redefinition of purpose. Helping frame and steward this set of challenges is a six member Transition Council formed earlier this year: Hiro Kennelly, Trewkat, WinVerse, Coffee Crusher, Rowan and ZFi.

This episode seeks to encapsulate both the origin story of our organization and get you up to speed on how the organization is changing.

To help me do that, I sat down with Rowan and ZFI, two of the six members of the transition council.

ZFi has been in the crypto space since 2013 and has been active in DAOs since November 2021, when he joined Bankless DAO. His innovative problem solving and leadership in Web3 is helping shape the future of decentralized governance and strategies.

Rowan first got into crypto in 2017 and is a BanklessDAO OG, though the first few months he was mostly lurking. He found his footing in DAO Operations with Sobol and mapping bDAO, after which he held a leadership role as the Coordinator of the Operations Department for several seasons. He’s passionate about decentralized governance and individual sovereignty.

Today’s guest is Ed On, aka jackalpha in Discord. Ed studied civil engineering, so he’s a bridge builder in the literal and metaphorical sense. Just prior to getting into web3, he worked as a web2 product manager at Samsung.

Ed is on the core team at Bankless Japan, part of the IMN or International Media Nodes at BanklessDAO. He also works on WonderVerse.xyz and WonderCommunities.com. Wonder builds the WonderVerse, which is collaboration tooling for web3 communities to manage projects, proposals, and grants seamlessly in one place.

A few months ago he co-presented with Yuki_xyz during BUIDL week, a hackathon at EthDenver in Colorado. And he was recently in Japan, attending DAO Tokyo and EthTokyo where he met up with fellow DAO contributors, including a few of our Bankless frens.
