Mark Levin went on Fox and compared Donald Trump to Franklin Roosevelt — Trump going after Republicans like Thomas Massie in primaries is FDR purging the Democrats in 1938, and Levin says it's a good thing.

Here's the twist: he's right. It IS the FDR playbook. He's just wrong about what that means — because the FDR story isn't a story about a leader purifying his party. It's a story about a leader capturing it.

Levin spent thirty years calling FDR the villain of American big government. So when he holds FDR up as the model, he's not paying Trump a compliment. He's handing you an indictment — and betting you won't read the documents to see it.

I did read them. And I was in the room for the 2024 version. I was elected by the Republicans of Idaho to the RNC Platform Committee. Our phones were sealed in Faraday bags. We were handed a finished platform nobody had been allowed to see, written in one man's voice, and told to bless it and stay quiet.
