  • S3E3 Brodie Juniper, the Misunderstood Ball Moss and Garden Tech!
    Jan 21 2026

    Send us a text

We purchased a Brodie Juniper for our side yard and Mary is here to tell you all about it - a really nice evergreen that is fast growing, easy to maintain, and can provide privacy for your yard. The Ball Moss is a bromeliad that is misunderstood, and Mary has done some research to clear the Ball Moss' bad rap! Jeff is going to look at some gardening tech this year and starts with a product that launched more as a proof-of-concept and has since been discontinued, the Tertill. A robotic weeding device that we hope will lead to some more advanced automation in this area.

    Jan 14 2026

Mary talks all things Carnation, or as we know them at the plant nursery - Dianthus caryophyllus. This plant has really evolved over the years to include a multitude of colors as well as being a pretty rugged little garden plant. Did you know that it can have a very dramatic difference in size depending on variety? We also talk about one of our favorite backyard birds - the Northern Cardinal, known for their beautiful colors and song and Mary talks about some other unique features of this backyard favorite.
