With over two decades of experience, Derrick Hooper has primarily worked with teenagers in the foster care system, fostering more than 40 kids, majority aged 14-18. His journey in child welfare spans from Southern California to the Bay Area. Disturbed by the lack of stability for teen boys, particularly young Black men, he resolved to become a Resource Parent, committed to making a difference.
