I don't read a ton of mystery novels, but The Maid Series by Nita Prose is one of the exceptions! • Women Of Chateau Lafayette Book Review
    May 16 2025

In this episode, my sister Christina and friend Kasana joined me to discuss the book The Women of Chateau Lafayette by Stephanie Dray. This book, with three different timelines, covers three women and their connection to the castle in the French Revolution and First and Second World Wars. Their stories, woven together, speak of how courage can look different for various people and how to balance conflicting responsibilities in difficult circumstances.

There are light references to the plot throughout the episode but we tried to speak in generalities so as to not give things away!

  • Everything is Tuberculosis Review
    May 2 2025

Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green was one of my top reads of the year thus far. It had a lot of different elements - history, science, personal stories, and global health - and was a thoughtful and well-researched examination of why TB continues to be the world's deadliest infectious disease, despite the fact that we know how to cure it. You don't need a health or science background to read this book - it is approachable and the way that he uses personal stories makes for what I found to be a very engaging read. Through this episode I give a bit of a synopsis of the book as well as discuss some of the concepts that stuck out to me.
