Raw Hide"Rawhide" is a Western song written by Ned Washington (lyrics) and composed by Dimitri Tiomkin in 1958. It was originally recorded by Frankie Laine. The song was used as the theme to Rawhide, a western television series that ran on CBS from 1959 to 1966. Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time.[1] Do Or Die (DOD Original)An original song by DeFlen Olson DeSmidt (DOD) written for their new science fiction video series of happenings in space. DeFlerns (Malaysia) video skills with AI are evident in this video. Darmin also plays all the interesting keyboard synth sounds. Paul DeSmidt is doing all the percussion here. Paul and I played gigs together in the late 70's at and around Madison Wisconsin. We were a powerful rhythm section then and continue to become even more powerful presently.. check out the video link at the top of the page.. This is number six in our series with another soon to be finished. Brain Damaged"Brain Damage" is the ninth track[nb 1] from English rock band Pink Floyd's 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon.[2][3] It was sung on record by Roger Waters (with harmonies by David Gilmour), who would continue to sing it on his solo tours. Gilmour sang the lead vocal when Pink Floyd performed it live on their 1994 tour (as can be heard on Pulse). The band originally called this track "Lunatic" during live performances and recording sessions. "Brain Damage" was released as a digital single on 19 January 2023 to promote The Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary box set.[4

In 1962, the song was released as a single by Bennett on Columbia Records as the b-side to "Once Upon a Time", peaked at No. 19 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and was also included on the album I Left My Heart in San Francisco. It also reached number seven on the Easy Listening chart.[2] The song is one of the official anthems for the city of San Francisco. In 2018, it was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or artistically significant".[3] Busy BodyAn original jazz waltz with improvised jazz leads and DeSmidt playing killer jazz swing drumsSummertime and the livin is easy."Summertime" is an aria composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the 1935 operaPorgy and Bess. The lyrics are by DuBose Heyward, the author of the novel Porgy on which the opera was based, and Ira Gershwin.[1]The song soon became a popular and much-recorded jazz standard, described as "without doubt ... one of the finest songs the composer ever wrote ... Gershwin's highly evocative writing brilliantly mixes elements of jazz and the song styles of blacks in the southeast United States from the early twentieth century".[2] Composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim characterized Heyward's lyrics for "Summertime" and "My Man's Gone Now" as "the best lyrics in the musical theater".[3]

Information on its jacket states that "All of these unusual & other-worldly sounds have been created with musical instruments rather than electronic gimmicks". It was one of the first albums on which the group played the new Mosrite brand guitars instead of their traditional Fender instruments. The album was released in 1964 on the Dolton label. This album was, along with many other musicians, a huge influencer in my music...It wasn't until decades later that I was able to afford and purchase my own Mosrite guitar! Magnetic FieldsAn original composition by De'Flern-Olson-DeSmidt DOD. The video is all AI generated by Darmin De'Flern in Malaysia, drums were created by Paul DeSmidt in Milwaukee and the rest in my studio in Rice Lake Wisconsin.. It's the 4th creation by DOD in a series of original music and video designed to stimulate the mind! Following the Nokie Edwards and Venturers tradition, I used my Mosrite guitar on this track.. Darmins classical piano playing is a bright fresh sound on this track.... Giant StepsGiant Steps is the fifth studio album by jazz musician John Coltrane as leader. It was released in February 1960 on Atlantic Records.[1][2][3] This was his first album as leader for Atlantic Records, with which he had signed a new contract the previous year. The record is regarded as one of the most influential jazz albums of all time. Many of its tracks have become practice templates for jazz saxophonists.[5][6] In 2004, it was one of fifty recordings chosen that year by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry. It attained gold record status in 2018, having sold 500,000 copies.[7] Two tracks, "Naima" and "Syeeda's Song Flute", are respectively named after Coltrane's wife at the time and her daughter, whom he adopted. A third, "Mr. P.C.", takes its name from the initials of bassist Paul Chambers, who played on the album. A fourth, "Cousin Mary", is named in honor of Mary Lyerly, Coltrane's younger cousin.

It is the title track from the 1984 album of the same name, which in turn is the soundtrack album for the 1984 film of the same name starring Prince, and was released as the third single from the album. The song is a power ballad that combines rock, R&B, gospel, and orchestral music.[1]"Purple Rain" reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for two weeks, being kept off the top spot by "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! It reached the summit in Belgium and the Netherlands. It is certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and is considered to be one of Prince's signature songs. Following Prince's death in 2016, "Purple Rain" re-entered the Billboard Hot 100, where it reached number four.[3] It also re-entered the UK Singles Chart at number six, placing two spaces higher than its original peak. In France, where it originally peaked at number 12, "Purple Rain" reached number one around a week after Prince's death."Purple Rain" is ranked at number 18 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and is included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.[4] During the Super Bowl XLI halftime show in 2007, for which Prince was the featured performer, "Purple Rain" was the last song of his set; the event became especially notable when actual rain fell during the performance while the stage and stadium were lit up with purple lights,[5] and the show continues to top lists of the best Super Bowl halftime shows of all time.[6][7][8] Prince performed the song as the opening of a medley of his hits with Beyoncé at the 2004 Grammy Awards. It was also the final song he performed live, taking place at the end of his final performance in Atlanta on April 14, 2016, one week before he died.[9] Solitary lonely GirlAn original R&B mixed style rock blues ballad written by Lance Olson this past year. The song is about the changing emotions of a young girl... Not Fade Away Connie from The Division re sang Not Fade Away in my studio just a few years ago. We recorded this song in LaCrosse. Paul DeSmidt from the band Libertine that we played together in, is also playing on this recording... It was fun doing a remake with 2 of my past band members from different bands from different times...
